Last week was so full with campaigns, annual meetings, poli tics,, and other programs. Then, too, a lot of Tryon folk have gone to Europe, Mexico, California, New England, Florida and other points over the nation. Commencement at high schools, preparatory schools and colleges claiming our interest now. And it is really in spiring the way young folk in this area rank high in colleges. William -J2?'Morrow Jr. of Landrum has been ■pied valedictorian of the North Greenville Junior College this year. . . Ernst Mahler, John R. Kimberly, Mr. and Mrs. John Sen senbrenner, all of Neenah-Men ashua, Wis.are arriving in Tryon for a few days stay and to attend the “open house” of Berkeley Mills at Balfour, a branch of the Inter national Cellucotton Co. of which Mr. Mahler, Mr. Kimberly and Mr. Sensenbrenner are directors. “Open House” Friday at Balfour from 1 to 9 p. m. will include a 45 minute tour of the plant showing raw cotton from the gin through various stages to finished surgi cal gauze. The public is invited. Guides will be on hand to assist and to serve refreshments. . .
